I am allowing myself to enjoy this run and keeping my hopes alive.
I know the reality of making the playoffs is slim, but I also hope that this carries over in to next season as more of the youth movement starts to make its presence felt.

Please win tonight, it's an important game to help the Flyers secure the 9th place in the conference. Habs are done, might as well drop in the standings. |

Carolina at this point might be our best bet. We can control gaining 4 points on them, the other 4 points will need to be help from other teams. Canes actually have a pretty tough schedule.

That's gonna be the MO for the rest of the season...or until they lose out on 3 points (or any type of loss to Carolina). |

I think it's over anyway, but if they lose tonight, forget it.

Have a feeling tonight will be a good night.
Flyers win.
Pittsburgh beats Carolina
Calgary beats Columbus
4 points out.
I want playoff hockey and will not throw in the towel yet. |

I think that, if they went 9-1-0 or better they could make it in, assuming they win tonight and both games vs. Carolina.
But I think that maybe 7-1-2 is probably what they'll end up doing at best. |

Same, only 10 games left this year, I wanna enjoy them. Plus it's great to see the young guys having a coming out party. Hopefully the slow starts to the season they had this year doesn't carry over to next October. |

I'd like to see Hartman used more, not sure if Gordon has been giving him the shaft or he's been under the weather but his minutes the past 5 games or so have been very limited and he seems to make plays when he's on the ice. |

I have awaited the arrival of MR BIG, Sam Morin to the national stage.
The only reason I can think of (other than a REALLY long rehab) is that TPTB do not wish to put him into a position that any possible error can cost the Flyers their 'chance' of making the POs.
No kid should shoulder that burden. It might break him. Playing perfect in every shift is nothing to sneeze at as an objective goal.
I then assume, if he is ready to go. It'll be after this season is truly dead before he is in the lineup.
Al least it explains, to my satisfaction, this lengthy process of insertion.

You don't have to assume, Gordon or Fletcher said pretty much exactly this the other day. That Morin is, up until they are eliminated, the 8th Dman on the roster.

Without Ed Snider how far can / will Comcast go in squeezing as much out of its players as possible just to get the revenue from those 2 guaranteed home games?
Looks like a nice contingent of the Flu is spreading throughout the locker room as well.

he Flyers took an off-day on Monday, giving Giroux and the rest of the team (including Ryan Hartman, who missed Friday's game in Toronto due to a similar illness) a chance to rest before facing another must-win game against Montreal. |

Next year will be different with this core. The young players added will quicken them once again for the entire year. All that's missing is consistency and a WILL to WIN.
WE WILL WIN! |

It is insane to insert a kid with 3 NHL games under his belt, who hasn't played but 2 games in almost 12 months (and who cramped and got dehydrated in his first game)
in to a March NHL game with the stakes ramped up to the degree they are. Even if the Flyers were out of it they are still playing games against teams who are fighting hard to make the playoffs/get in playoffs mode.
Let him practice, be with the team, get the meetings, get the systems, get the feel, and bring him in ready to go in October. |

even prior though he wasn't getting much time. Maybe 12 minutes is third line equivalent? |

If we are totally out he's going to get in, lack of work or not. |

I'm hoping for a healthy summer for the kid and hopefully he makes the team next fall because I'm about done with Hagg. |
